Mel's Valedictorian Diner
Restaurant grading has become a big thing in New York City. Each restaurant now sports its report card in the window; Grade A, Grade B. Takes me back to my old forged report cards...
But alas, like with any other restaurant-related phenomenon in NYC, people are taking restaurant grades far too seriously. Recently I was out with someone who refused to go into a restaurant because its report card said "Grade Pending."
I was like..."You eat at home, don't you? What kind of grade do you think your kitchen would get? Summer school. That's what it would get. Or maybe Cooking as a Second Language."
